Nico Hülkenberg disqualified from the race
12.07.2008 - Nico Hülkenberg (ART Grand Prix), the first-placed driver in the ninth season round of the Formula 3 Euro Series at Zandvoort, was excluded from the race results on Saturday evening. After the race, the total weight of car and driver was found to be 537 kilograms and thus was three kilograms lower than the minimum weight of 540 kilograms as required in the regulations. This was an infringement of paragraph 34 of the regulations of the Formula 3 Euro Series.
The consequence for Hülkenberg: disqualification from the race and loss of the points. The subsequent drivers in the official race classification will each move up one place. The new race winner is Finn Mika Mäki (Mücke Motorsport) from Jules Bianchi (ART Grand Prix) and Sam Bird (Manor Motorsport). Hülkenberg will be allowed to start the race on Sunday from last place on the grid. The team ART Grand Prix appealed against the decision of the stewards.
