Zandvoort: stewards disqualified Nico Hülkenberg subsequently
ART Grand Prix driver Nico Hülkenberg was excluded from the race results on Saturday evening. After his victory in the ninth season round of the formula-3 euroseries at Zandvoort, the total weight of car and driver was found to be 537 kilograms and thus was three kilograms lower than the minimum weight of 540 kilograms as required in the regulations.
This was an infringement of paragraph 34 of the regulations of the formula 3 euroseries. Afterwards the ART Grand Prix team appealed against the decision of the stewards.
The consequence of this decision was the disqualification from the race and loss of the points. The 20-yeras old was allowed to start the race on Sunday from last place on the grid.
In the race on Sunday Nico Hülkenberg did a great job and crossed the finish line in 13th place.
With 26 points Nico Hülkenberg is placed in fourth position of the overall ranking.
The next round of the formula-3 euroseries will start at the Nürburgring (25th to 27th of July).
