A1GP Alemania se destaca tras su doblete A1GP 21/01/07 19:14
El A1 Team Alemania consiguió su primer doble triunfo en la serie con el liderato de principio a fin de Nico Hulkenberg en la SuperPoints A1GP en Taupo, Nueva Zelanda. El novato francés Loic Duval impresionó en su primera aparición en A1GP al terminar en segundo lugar a pesar de la constante presión de Jonny Reid, que piloteó el Black Beauty para lograr el mejor resultado entre las naciones anfitrionas de los eventos A1GP hasta hoy.

Al iniciar la segunda vuelta Alemania iba delante de Francia, Nueva Zelanda, Holanda, Suiza e Italia, y más atrás Sudáfrica y Gran Bretaña. Para mala fortuna de Sudáfrica su posición entre los líderes de la carrera no duró porque fueron sancionados por adelantarse en la largada y después del drive through en la vuelta cuatro cayeron hasta la posición 17.

Más atrás, el coche de República Checa empezó a cerrar la distancia con Brasil y lo presionó durante toda la vuelta siete. Los dos pilotos llegaron a la curva 12 lado a lado pero por tratar de conservar su velocidad ambos coches salieron de la pista, cortaron sobre el césped y regresaron a la pista primero el auto de A1 República Checa y después el del A1 Team Brasil con un ala destrozada.

Cuando se abrió la ventana para las paradas obligatorias en los pits al inicio de la vuelta 8, el líder de la carrera fue el primero en entrar, seguido en la misma vuelta por Holanda, Gran Bretaña e Italia. Francia y Nueva Zelanda entraron en la siguiente vuelta y los equipos en los pits tenían toda la presión encima para sacar su auto delante del otro. Ambos equipos hicieron paradas impecables pero el Francés salió de los pits con un segundo de ventaja.

Después de que la falla de una flecha en el coche del equipo A1 Irlanda los forzó a abandonar en la carrera corta y los ubicó en el lugar 20 de la parrilla para la carrera principal, el piloto Richard Lyons empezó a avanzar con el coche verde brillante mientras los demás pilotos entraban a los pits. Para cuando Irlanda entró a los pits en la vuelta 12, el piloto había avanzado a la posición 11. A pesar de una buena parada y de algunos interesantes intentos de rebase, la suerte se le acabó al irlandés cuando más tarde por un error golpeó el hombro de la pista, rompió la suspensión trasera y dejó al equipo fuera de la carrera cuando faltaban sólo cinco vueltas para terminar.

Otra vez en primer lugar, Suiza aprovechó la ventaja que había logrado cuando Alemania, Francia, Nueva Zelanda y Holanda entraron a los pits, de modo que cuando el coche rojo y blanco hizo su parada obligatoria pudo superar al holandés por el cuarto lugar y conservó esa posición hasta el final de la carrera.

Nueva Zelanda mantuvo la presión sobre Francia durante toda la carrera, hizo varios intentos por superarlo pero la casi perfecta actuación de ambos, sobre una pista sinuosa y resbalosa hizo que ambos conservaran sus posiciones hasta que cayó la bandera a cuadros.

Mientras con el buen resultado que tuvieron durante el fin de semana tanto Francia como Nueva Zelanda subieron en las posiciones del campeonato, el equipo de México cayó del tercero al quinto en un fin de semana que resultó decepcionante. Gran Bretaña llegó a Taupo segundo en las posiciones pero cayó al cuarto lugar después de que la impresionante actuación en la carrera corta fue opacada por una falla en la batería que lo obligó a retirarse cuando rodaba en el sexto lugar en la vuelta 40 de la carrera principal. Mientras tanto, en el garage del equipo A1 India no hubo ninguna desilusión, ya que el equipo consiguió anotar sus primeros puntos en A1GP al terminar séptimos gracias a los esfuerzos de otro recién llegado a la serie: Narain Karthikeyan. Por si esto no fuera suficiente, el piloto registró la segunda vuelta más rápida de la carrera, menos de dos décimas de segundo de diferencia con la vuelta más rápida impuesta por Alemania.

Nico Hulkenberg del A1 Team Alemania, feliz con su primer doble triunfo en la serie, comentó: "Encontré mi ritmo, pude hallar mi paso y poner una distancia entre nosotros. Mi manager se sentía un poco mal este fin de semana y creo que me contagió algo pero estoy bien. Bebí mucha agua, unos cuatro litros, antes de la carrera y me siento bien. Quiero agradecer mucho al equipo por la estrategia y la excelente parada en los pits. Estoy muy contento de estar aquí y por haber ganado la carrera y ahora estoy ansioso por llegar a Australia".

Su primera probada de un fin de semana de A1GP impresionó al francés Loic Duval, quien al igual que Hulkenberg ya quiere que llegue la próxima carrera, que será en Eastern Creek, en Sydney (2-4 de febrero de 2007). Duval dijo: "Al final no estuvo tan mal, desafortunadamente no gané pero creo que fue bastante bueno para ser mi primera experiencia en A1GP. Me siento bien con el equipo y estoy feliz de estar en esta serie, espero que la próxima carrera nos vaya mejor".

Con más de 80,000 asistentes durante el fin de semana, la carrera en Taupo resultó ser un gran éxito. "Los neozelandeses deben estar increíblemente orgullosos del evento de hoy. Más de 80,000 aficionados vivieron la emoción de la Copa del Mundo de Automovilismo A1GP en Taupo. La carrera fue muy apretada de principio a fin, y el equipo de casa terminó en el podio en las dos carreras. Ahora nos vamos a Sydney para la ronda 7", comentó el director general de A1GP, Pete da Silva.

Built and owned by the New South Wales Government to host the 1991 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, Eastern Creek International Raceway is the only international race circuit in Sydney. It is currently operated by the Australian Racing Drivers Club (ARDC).

Located just 40 minutes from the centre of Sydney, Eastern Creek is the hub of motorsport in New South Wales, also combining the world's largest karting facility and Australia's leading drag complex. Eastern Creek International Raceway annually plays host to a number of Australian motorsport's biggest events, including annual rounds of the Australian V8 Supercar Championship and motorcycle racing.

The facility offers motorsport fans and competitors a year-round world standard motor racing facility. This includes a 4,000 seat covered grandstand over looking the start finish line providing a view of 80% of the circuit. The pit facilities provide 52 roll-in / roll-out garages, all with power and immediate access to the support paddock area. The air-conditioned suites have closed circuit TV, computerised lap scoring screens and their balconies overlook the start/finish line, main straight and pit lane. The roof of the pit building is capable of hosting a further 1,500 corporate guests in marquee style suites.
Australia’s 7,686,850 km2 landmass is situated on the Indo-Australian Plate. The capital, Canberra, is located in the Australian Capital Territory, although Sydney is the largest city, with four million people, or 20 per cent of the population. The majority of the population are located in and around the cities of Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.

Australia largely consists of desert and semi arid land, making it the driest inhabited continent. The northern part of the country is something of a contrast, with its tropical climate, it is made up of rainforest, woodland and grassland. A result of this varied climate and long-term geographical isolation means that much of Australia’s vegetation and wildlife is diverse and unique to Australia. About 85 per cent of flowering plants, 84 per cent of mammals, 45 per cent of birds and 89 per cent of in-shore fish are native to the country. One of the celebrated national phenomenon’s The Great Barrier Reef, is the world’s largest coral reef and lies off the north coast of Australia and extends for over 2,000km, or 1,250 miles.

Australia has been inhabited for over 40,000 years by Indigenous Australians. After traders and explorers discovered more of the country through the seventeenth century, the eastern half of the continent was claimed by the British in 1770 and became the penal colony of New South Wales in 1788.

As more and more regions were explored and populated, five more Crown Colonies were established through the nineteenth century. The UK formally claimed the western part of Australia in 1829, while in 1863, the Northern Territory was founded as a free province, not a colony and became a province of South Australia. In the second half of the nineteenth century, the individual colonies set up their own governments, while remaining part of the British Empire. This process continued until the six colonies were federated and the Commonwealth of Australia was formed, as a Dominion of the British Empire in 1901. During this time the indigenous population of Australia began to diminish.

Australia’s independence from Great Britain increased further with the Statute of Westminster which ended most of the constitutional links between the two countries and was adopted by Australia in 1942.

The final constitutional ties between Australia and Great Britain ended in 1986 with the passing of the Australia Act 1986, which brought to an end any British role in the Australian states. However, Australians rejected a move to become a republic in 1999, when 55 per cent of voters opted to keep Queen Elizabeth II as Queen of Australia. Under the constitutional monarchy with its parliamentary system of government, the Queen, under the Constitution of Australia, delegates all her powers to the Governor General.

The demographic of Australia began to change after the Second World War as the government actively encouraged immigration from Europe and lifted restrictions on immigration from other countries. Most of the 20.4 million Australian are descended from nineteenth and twentieth century immigrants, the majority from Great Britain and Ireland. The population quadrupled in the post war period as a result of this ambitious immigration programme. This had quite a significant impact on the culture of Australia. Up until the mid twentieth century, the culture was Anglo-Celtic, while in recent years, the environment and indigenous culture have had a large impact.

In terms of the economy, Australia has a well developed, western style mixed economy that is heavily reliant on the service sector, including tourism, which makes up 69 per cent of the GDP. The economy is relatively stable and at the beginning of 2006, unemployment stood at 5.3 per cent.

Sport is a very important part of culture in Australia, with over 23 per cent of all adults over the age of 15 taking part in organised sporting activities. At an international level, Australia performs well in cricket, hockey, rugby league, rugby union and swimming – and of course – motorsport.

A1 Team Deutschland - Doppelsieg im „Kiwi-Land"

5 Tage blieben Nico, sich im neuseeländischen Taupo mental und physich auf den Start in die 2. Halbzeit und das Sechste von insgesamt 11 Rennen der A1GP-Serie vorzubereiten. (Das Rennen in Brasilien findet nicht statt, somit nur 11) Nach den Erfolgen in Indonesien und Malaysia geht Deutschland mit 12 Punkten Vorsprung an den Start in Taupo. Neben der A1GP Veranstaltung finden am Wochenende weitere Rahmen-Rennen statt. Entsprechend wurde Sand und Staub auf die Strecke „gebaggert“, was den Gripverhältnissen der Formelfahrzeuge nicht unbedingt entgegen kam. Es war deshalb große Vorsicht geboten in den ersten Runden jeder A1GP-Sitzung, bis der Staub weggeblasen war. Insgesamt verlief die 6. Veranstaltung für Team Deutschland weitgehend ohne besondere Probleme. Allerdings auch mit viel Glück, denn Nico hatte sich vermutlich irgend einen Bazillus „eingefangen“ und fühlte sich denn auch gesundheitlich nicht in Topform.

Rookie Session:
Teamchef „Deutschand“ - Willi Weber hatte Christian Vietoris, Sieger der Formel BMW nach Neuseeland entsandt, da Nico die rookie session nicht mehr fahren darf. Christian gab mit P7 und P6 einen beachtenswerten Einstand. Er fungiert zukünftig als Fahrer der rookie session und Ersatzfahrer.

Practise:
Zunächst Abstimmung des set up und Einschiessen auf den unbekannten Kurs.
In Trainingssitzung Nr. 2 erreicht Deutschland dann P2 hinter Team Neuseeland.

Qualifying:
In den 4 folgenden qualifying sessions konnte Deutschland nach Erfolgen in Indonesien und Malaysia erneut überzeugen.

Gesamt:
Erste “pole position” in einem A1 GP-Rennen für Deutschland!

Sprint Race:
Deutschland hatte, nach einer safety car Phase die Verfolger dicht auf den Versen. Aber dennoch, alles lief super! Start-Ziel Sieg für Deutschland mit ca. 3 sec. Vorsprung vor Frankreich und Neuseeland.

Feature Race:
Deutschland erwischt wieder einen guten Start und kann die „pole“ optimal umsetzen. Start - Sieg für Deutschland mit knapp 20 sec. Vorsprung in gleicher Reihenfolge wie im Sprint Race. Deutschland vor Frankreich und Neuseeland.
Die schnellste Runde ging ebenfalls an Team Germany.

Punktestand nach Rennen Neuseeland: Tabellenführung ausgebaut auf 21 Punkte!

The 19-year old German moves from the Recaro Formula 3 Cup to the Formula 3 Euro Series.
Nico Hülkenberg joins ASM Formule 3

In the coming season, Nico Hülkenberg is going to race a Team ASM Formule 3 entered Dallara-Mercedes, thus becoming the team-mate of Japan’s Kamui Kobayashi. The 19-year old German moves from the Recaro Formula 3 Cup to the Formula 3 Euro Series.

Currently, Nico Hülkenberg shines in the A1 Grand Prix Series. In the series called ‘Motor Racing’s Nation Cup’ and held during the winter months, Germany with its driver Nico Hülkenberg currently holds a dominant championship lead. At the first race weekend of 2007, held in mid-January at Taupo, New Zealand, Hülkenberg prevailed in both the sprint and the feature race, thus securing his first back-to-back wins. On the day before, the Willi Weber protégé had succeeded in also clinching his maiden A1GP pole position.

Hülkenberg is regarded as one of the most promising German motor racing talents. At the age of 17, he left karting to enter the Formula BMW Germany. In a thrilling battle, he prevailed against Switzerland’s Sébastien Buemi - who was already contesting his second Formula BMW season, at that point in time - to secure his first title in his maiden year of car racing.

Afterwards, the champion opted for continuing his career together with his team, Josef Kaufmann Racing - and together they moved up to the Recaro Formula 3 Cup. There, they experienced a difficult season and failed to achieve the successes they had hoped for. Yet, in spite of having missed to races, they were competitive enough to finish fifth, in the end.

When testing for team ASM Formule 3 in mid-December, however, Hülkenberg delivered in convincing style. “The test went really well. ASM wanted to sign me and I was keen on racing for them,” the usually self-critical young German described the result of the test. And a short time later, he signed a deal with the squad of Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur.

Bueno pues con esta noticia ya sabemos el campeonnato donde Nico correra este año de momento parece ser que estara con el equipo que gano el campeonato el año pasado en la F3 euro series parece ser que willy weber se ha movido un poco mas que con lo de la gp2 creo que aun era pronto para eso, Felicidades a Nico y suerte en este año je,je .

De Duitser Nico Hülkenberg komt dit seizoen uit voor het ASM Formule 3 team. Hülkenberg wordt de teamgenoot van onder andere de Japanner Kamui Kobayashi. De snelle Duitser vervangt daarmee de Recaro Formule 3 Cup voor de Euroseries.

Op dit moment rijdt Hülkenberg zeer succesvol in de A1GP voor Team Duitsland. Hij won de race op het circuit van Zandvoort en tevens Malaeisië. Afgelopen weekend pakte de jonge belofte de dubbelzege in de A1 GP van Nieuw-Zeeland. Nico Hülkenberg valt onder de hoede van ene Willy Weber (manager Michael Schumacher) en wordt gezien als één van de grootste talenten uit Duitsland.

A1 Team Germany relishes Australian visit

After clinching a famous double-victory in New Zealand, the best result to date for A1 Team Germany, the team, headed by motorsport manager Willi Weber, prepares to contest the next round of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport to be held in the Pacific region only a fortnight later. The team, with Nico Hülkenberg from Emmerich and ‘Rookie Session’ driver Christian Vietoris from Gönnersdorf driving, arrives in Australia for the seventh race of the eleven round series as championship leaders.

After the fourth race win of the season – three Feature race wins and a single Sprint race victory – A1 Team Germany now has a 19 point lead over second place and 2005/06 title holders, A1 Team France. With a maximum of 17 points on offer each race-weekend, it is already clear that the team will leave Australia at the head of the leader board irrespective of how the race finishes. "This a very comfortable cushion, but the motivation doesn’t suffer in the slightest”, stresses Willi Weber. "Quite the contrary: Nico set a new benchmark in New Zealand for us after taking pole position and winning both races. Of course I hope that David Sears’ race team continues this excellent run with Nico. Christian Vietoris also played an important role on his debut in New Zealand by claiming sixth in the ‘Rookie Session’ for newcomers.”

Nico Hülkenberg knows that winning is a result of hard work. "There wasn’t a single overtaking manoeuvre in New Zealand. It was all down to your grid position. If I hadn’t been fastest in qualifying the race would probably have ended differently for me”, says the 19-year old ‘star of tomorrow’. "Obviously I also want to be right on the pace from the beginning in Australia, but we know just how tough it is since everybody has the same equipment. The harmony in the team is of enormous benefit, but our rivals will be hot on our heels.”

A1GP roars into Sydney

The A1GP World Cup of Motorsport arrived in Sydney this week, bringing with it two jumbo jets full of motorsport action set to thrill spectators at Eastern Creek International Raceway from February 2-4, 2007.

Fiercely committed to catering for more than just rev-heads and motorsport fanatics, the A1GP will bring a spectacular family atmosphere to Sydney including attractions in Carnival Corner, kids’ amusement rides, roving performers entertaining kids and families in the lead up to the race and a Red Bull Aerobatic Display.

Fans are in for a further treat, with Friday’s free entry “day for the fans” kicking off the three days of quality motorsport and entertainment. In addition, autograph sessions with drivers from over 20 national teams, including A1 Team Australia, will take place on the Saturday, giving fans the chance to get up close and personal with the stars of the track.

By Public Transport

Take a train to Doonside Station where a free bus service will take you direct to Eastern Creek International Raceway – look for the A1GP sign and enter at Gate 1

By Car

From the city: approach via the M4 Motorway, take the Reservoir Rd exit to the Great Western Highway and use Reen Rd for direct entry to circuit parking. Gate 4 will be operating from this entry.

From west of Blacktown: approach via M4 Motorway, take the Wallgrove Rd exit, turn left onto Wallgrove Rd, turn right onto the Great Western Highway, turn right onto Brabham Drive. Use Gate 2 entry (should gate 2 entry be congested you will be directed to Gate 7 – proceed from the roundabout on Brabham Drive along Ferrers Road)

Parking: ample parking is available at Eastern Creek International Raceway and will be free of charge. Parking is available via Gates 2, 4 and 7. Gate 4 parking will only be available from the Reen Rd entry.
