Victory for Hülkenberg in Europe’s most important F3 raceNico Hülkenberg (ASM Formule 3) claimed victory in the “Zandvoort Masters of Formula 3 @ Zolder”. In the competition with the best Formula 3 drivers from Europe, the 19-year old German beat Frenchmen Yann Clairay and Jean Karl Vernay (both Signature-Plus),who finished second and third respectively.

At the 3.977 kilometres long former Grand Prix circuit in Zolder in Belgium, New-Zealander Brendon Hartley (Mücke Motorsport) made a successful Formula 3 debut by finishing fourth. The first nine places were locked out by drivers and teams from the ranks of the Formula 3 Euro Series, proving once more why the Formula 3 Euro Series is being considered as the world’s strongest junior racing category.
At the start, Nico Hülkenberg beat Franck Mailleux (Manor Motorsport) and took the lead. Romain Grosjean (ASM Formule 3), who started from pole position, lost all chances of a good result at the start already as he stalled his engine. On lap 14, Mailleux was given a drive through penalty because of a jump start. The Frenchman eventually came home in 17th place.
For Hülkenberg’s team ASM Formule 3, it is the fourth win in a row in Europe’s most important Formula 3 race. The previous three editions were won for the French team by Alexandre Prémat, Lewis Hamilton and Paul di Resta. Since the Formula 3 Euro Series was founded in 2003, a driver from the Euro Series has won the Masters every year.
Nico Hülkenberg (ASM Formule 3): “Actually, it hasn’t yet sunk in that I have won Europe’s most important Formula 3 race. My start was good and I was in the lead. After that, I just pushed to pull a gap over my opponents. The race wasn’t easy as there were many cars to be lapped and there was a lot of sand at the track after drivers spun out.”

Das ehemalige ASM-Team, ART, hat neben dem Deutschen Nico Hülkenberg drei weitere Fahrer für die Euroserie-Saison 2008 bestätigt

Hülkenberg wird 2008 die ART-Fraktion in der Formel-3-Euroserie anführen

Jahrelang war das ASM-Team die erste Adresse in der Formel-3-Euroserie, doch 2008 verschwindet der Name ASM: Nach der Fusion mit dem GP2-Rennstall ART im Februar 2007 wird nun auch der Teamname angepasst - ASM muss ART weichen.
"Es hat keinen Sinn mehr gemacht, zwei verschiedene Namen für die gleiche Firma mit den gleichen Leuten unter einem Dach zu verwenden", erklärte ART-Teamchef Frédéric Vasseur. Und Nicolas Todt, der Sohn von Ferrari-Boss Jean Todt, der bei ART eher den GP2-Bereich managt, fügte an: "Es ist logischer, für all unsere Aktivitäten nur noch einen Namen zu verwenden." Dies soll Konfusion vermeiden und helfen, das Profil der Firma weiter zu verbessern.

Gleichzeitig gab ART auch die endgültige Fahrerbesetzung für die Formel-3-Euroserie 2008 bekannt: Neben dem Deutschen Nico Hülkenberg, der gemeinsam mit James Jakes um den Meistertitel fahren soll, wurden auch noch die beiden Rookies Jules Bianchi und Jon Lancaster verpflichtet. Bianchi kommt aus der Französischen Formel Renault 2.0, Lancaster aus dem Eurocup - für beide ist die Formel 3 also Neuland.
"Ich wollte zwei Fahrer in ihrer zweiten Saison in der Formel-3-Euroserie haben, denn wir müssen das neue Auto bestmöglich ausschöpfen", gab Vasseur anlässlich der Verlautbarung zu Protokoll. "Nico hatte eine außergewöhnliche Saison 2007 und James lieferte uns kürzlich bei den Privattests exzellentes technisches Feedback. Jules und Jon haben ihre Gegner in der Formel Renault locker geschlagen und waren daher eine logische Wahl für ART."
ASM war in den vergangenen Jahren die Topadresse in der Formel-3-Euroserie, hatte seinerzeit auch das Dreamteam bestehend aus Lewis Hamilton und Adrian Sutil unter Vertrag. In der GP2 blieb ART indes in den ersten beiden Jahren ungeschlagen, ehe sich in der zurückliegenden Saison Timo Glock für iSport den Titel sicherte. Davor gewannen Nico Rosberg und Hamilton jeweils auf ART die Formel-1-Nachwuchsmeisterschaft.

ASM renamed - driver quartet for 2008 complete

28.11.2007 - With immediate effect, French Team ASM Formule 3 that has secured the Formula 3 Euro series title for four consecutive years, now, renames itself as ART. Under its new name, the squad is going to contest the 2008 season with four cars for Nico Hülkenberg and James Jakes as well as two rookies: Jules Bianchi and Jon Lancaster.

For several years, Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur has contested the Formula 3 Euro Series with Team ASM and the GP2 Series with Team ART Grand Prix. “Despite the different names, it was just one team,” he reveals. “Hence, we opted for competing in both series under the name ART, from now on.”

The French squad is going to again enter four cars, for the coming season. Germany’s Nico Hülkenberg is the only driver of this year’s line-up who will continue racing for the team, to contest a second Formula 3 Euro Series season. Hülkenberg experienced some initial problems, in the opening stages of the 2007 season but with a convincing second season half, he secured third championship position in the world’s most competitive young-gun series.

James Jakes raced a Manor Motorsport single-seater, last year. The Briton prevailed in one of the rounds held in the French GP’s support programme and in the end he finished fifth, in his maiden Formula 3 Euro Series season.

Jules Bianchi and Jon Lancaster can look back on successful Formula Renault seasons. The Frenchman secured the title in the French Formula Renault Championship, with British young gun Lancaster delivering an impressive final spurt in the last four Formula Renault Eurocup rounds to finish runner-up.

Frédéric Vasseur: “With Nico and James, we’ve got two drivers with Formula 3 experience under their belts. This will be particularly vital, next year, as the season will be contested with new Formula 3 cars. We know Nico. He is a quick and gifted driver. James convinced us when testing for us, while Jules and Jon are two of the most promising rookies, thus representing the nearly logical choice, for ART.”

Villa podría probar con BMW Sauber
Javier Villa podría ser uno de los candidatos a ocupar el asiento de piloto probador y reserva de la escudería BMW Sauber en 2008.

El piloto español de 20 años, que ha ganado este año tres carreras en la GP2 Series y que ha concluido el Campeonato con el equipo Racing Engineering en sexta posición, realizará un test con casi toda probabilidad en un futuro próximo con BMW Sauber, según publica el diario Marca.

Otra serie de pilotos también han sonado como posibles sustitutos de Timo Glock, que tras firmar por Toyota, ha dejado vacante el puesto de probador en BMW.

Se espera que el equipo de Mario Theissen anuncie el nombre del piloto elegido el próximo mes de diciembre, tras haber evaluado a una serie de pilotos la próxima semana en Jerez, entre los que podrían estar el estonio Marko Asmer, Robert Doornbos o el protegido de Willi Weber, Nico Hulkenberg.

Según explica Marca, el representante de Villa y también propietario de Racing Engineering, Alfonso de Orleans, se habría reunido con los responsables de BMW Sauber el pasado fin de semana en Valencia, donde se disputaron las finales mundiales de la Fórmula BMW.

Joderrrrrrr..............que asco otro mas para disputarle el puesto a hulkemberg, no tengo nada en contra de javi villa es mas me cae bastante mejor que su paisano me parece mas educado, pero no me gustaria que fuera el elegido esperemos que nico tenga mas suerte....aunque bueno por lo menos tendra la oportunidad de probar un f1 suerte Nico!!!!!!!!!!!!!! seguire esos entrenos con muchos nervios no solo por nico sino por el gran schumy que vuelve a las pistas de nuevo........

Im spanischen Jerez findet diese Woche der letzte große Test des Jahres statt - Nico Hülkenberg für das Williams-Team im Einsatz


Willi Weber hat Nico Hülkenberg einen Test beim Williams-Team verschafft
Bevor sich die Teams - zumindest was die Einsätze auf der Rennstrecke angeht - in die Winterpause verabschieden, steigt ab morgen im südspanischen Jerez de la Frontera der letzte große Test des Formel-1-Jahres 2007. Zu den ohnehin schon bekannten Deutschen kommt dabei ein weiterer hinzu: Nico Hülkenberg. Der von Willi Weber betreute Emmericher gewann 2005 den Titel in der Formel BMW Deutschland und fiel auf internationaler Bühne durch seinen Gesamtsieg in der A1GP-Serie 2006/07 mit dem Team Deutschland auf. 2007 ging er in der Formel-3-Euroserie an den Start, wo er hinter Romain Grosjean und dem Schweizer Sébastien Buemi in der Endwertung Dritter wurde. 2008 wird er ein weiteres Jahr im kürzlich von ASM auf ART umbenannten Rennstall anhängen.

This Tuesday and Wednesday, Nico Hülkenberg (ASM Formule 3) is going to make his debut at the wheel of a Formula 1 car: in the tests held at Jerez, Spain, the German who finished third in the 2007 Formula 3 Euro Series and who is going to also contest the 2008 season on the grid of the planet’s most competitive young-gun series will test for Williams-Toyota.

“I’m truly looking forward to this new challenge,” the German beamed before hitting the road to Andalusia. Still, the 20-year old isn’t nervous. “I slept well, so far, and I’m convinced that I’m going to deliver in fine style, at Jerez.”
Hülkenberg can look back on a successful career, to date. In his debut season in car racing, in 2005, he secured the Formula BMW ADAC title right away. In winter 2006/2007, he contested nearly all the A1 GP rounds for Team Germany, thus being nearly filly responsible for the squad’s title triumph. In 2006, Hülkenberg entered the Formula 3 Euro Series. He experienced some minor problems in the early stages of the season but then, he got going better and better. In the second half of the season, no driver succeeded in scoring more points than the blond German who finished third in the championship, at the end of the day.

Bueno pues mira, al final sera williams quien le de la oprtunidad,x lo menos tendra un test y hara su debut con un f1 y asi de paso villa puede ser el probador de bmw sin ningun problema, animo y forza hulkemberg aunque no pueda ir a verlo espero que algundia llege a la f1 y entonces pueda ver grandes carreras de este joven talento del automivismo.................

Williams evaluará a Hulkenberg en Jerez

El equipo Williams ha confirmado que hará una prueba al piloto alemán Nico Hulkenberg esta semana en el Circuito de Jerez de la Frontera.

El piloto de 20 años, que en la actualidad compite en la Fórmula 3 Euroseries, debutará el martes al volante de un Fórmula Uno y durante dos jornadas intentará impresionar a los jefes de Williams que están buscando un probador para el 2008.

La escudería británica ha confirmado que el objetivo de los entrenamientos es evaluar a Hulkenberg para el puesto de piloto reserva y de pruebas después de haber ascendido a piloto oficial al japonés Kazuki Nakajima

Aún así, Williams insiste en que sólo es una prueba y que podría evaluar a otras jóvenes promesas en los entrenamientos que tendrán lugar a principios del próximo año.

Hulkenberg acabó tercero en la F3 Euroseries esta temporada con el equipo ART, previamente dominó el campeonato de A1 GP para el equipo Alemania y su representante es Willi Weber, quien también guió la carrera de los hermanos Schumacher.

Nico Hulkenberg confía en poder convertirse en el nuevo piloto probador de la escudería Williams, según ha confirmado su manager Willi Weber.

Este joven piloto alemán de 20 años, que ha impresionado no sólo consiguiendo el título en el A1 Grand Prix 2006-07, sino también finalizando en tercera posición la F3 Euro Series de este año, hará su debut al volante de un F1 con Williams esta semana en Jerez.

Hulkenberg tiene previsto continuar en la F3 en 2008, pero su vinculación con Williams lo convierte en uno de los grandes candidatos a ocupar el asiento de probador que ha dejado Kazuki Nakajima.

Su manager, Willi Weber, que guió la exitosa carrera de Michael Schumacher, ha confirmado que Hulkenberg intentará aprovechar la oportunidad que le brinda Williams para llaar a la puerta de la Fórmula Uno.

"Espero que continúe con Williams tras el test de Jerez," ha declarado Weber a la agencia de noticias alemana SID.

Hulkenberg tiene previsto rodar hoy y mañana miércoles en Jerez, en las dos primeras jornada de los últimos test colectivos del año.
