Bien por nico que en la segunda carrera a cogido dos puntitos que pueden ser determinantes y aunque mortara le a recuperado dos no esta mal un buen fin de semana veremos que pasa en las proximas citas.......
Brands Hatch, gara 2: doppietta Signature, vince Mailleux

Prima vittoria stagionale nella F.3 Euro Series per Franck Mailleux che, grazie alla griglia invertita in base alle prime otto posizioni di gara 1, partito dalla prima fila ha mantenuto la testa della seconda corsa per tutti i 48 giri dopo aver superato al via Jean-Karl Vernay, che era al "palo". Torna al successo il motore Volkswagen mentre il team Signature festeggia una doppietta in quanto Vernay ha poi conlcuso secondo. Terza piazza invece, per Renger Van der Zande, primo dei piloti Mercedes, che è tornato sul podio col team Prema.

Van der Zande è ora terzo anche nella classifica generale di campionato avendo scavalcato Mika Maki, il cui weekend inglese non è stato dei migliori. Quarta posizione per Edoardo Mortara. L'italiano ha avuto un'impennata d'orgoglio a Brands Hatch racimolando otto punti importanti che gli permettono di tenere il secondo posto in una classifica che ora lo vede a 13 punti dal leader Nico Hulkenberg. Il tedesco si è piazzato quinto davanti a Yann Clairay dopo un bel sorpasso. Buon nono posto per la RC Motorsport con Cong Fu Cheng.

1-2 for Signature: Franck Mailleux ahead of Jean-Karl Vernay

31.08.2008 - Franck Mailleux (Signature-Plus) had to wait until the 14th season round of the Formula 3 Euro Series before he could celebrate his first win of the year. At the 1.929 kilometres long circuit of Brands Hatch, the Frenchman won ahead of his compatriot Jean-Karl Vernay (Signature-Plus) and Dutchman Renger van der Zande (Prema Powerteam). Points’ leader Nico Hülkenberg (ART Grand Prix) finished fifth behind Edoardo Mortara (Signature-Plus). His margin over Italian Mortara, who is second in the points’ standings, was reduced by one point to 13 points.

The start was the decisive moment of the race. Mailleux, who had started second, overtook pole-sitter Vernay and retained the lead until the chequered flag was out. Van der Zande and Mortara also conquered their positions at the start already and didn’t lose them throughout the 48 laps of the race. Hülkenberg, on the other hand, had a successful overtaking manoeuvre as he went past Yann Clairay (SG Formula) when the latter locked up under braking. The Frenchman still drove sixth place home, scoring the final championship point for finishing ahead of the best-placed rookie Henkie Waldschmidt (SG Formula).

Franck Mailleux (Signature-Plus): “I knew that one can hardly overtake here, so I was focussed on the start. I absolutely wanted to get that right and make it through out of the first corner ahead of Jean-Karl Vernay, which I actually did. In the first laps, I tried to extend the gap over Jean-Karl. After that, I safely drove victory home.“

Jean-Karl Vernay (Signature-Plus): “I have a huge blister on my left hand, so I am happy that I have finished on the podium in the first place. Franck Mailleux had a better start and as he didn’t make a mistake in the race, my chances of victory were gone. My race was good, but unfortunately, the start wasn’t.“

Renger van der Zande (Prema Powerteam): Basically, after the start, my race was already run. I could close the gap to Jean-Karl Vernay, but whenever I was close behind him, I lost downforce and my car started sliding. Third place is a good result and even more so as I am now third in the points’ standings again.”

Brands Hatch: Nico Hülkenberg now championship leader
Nico Hülkenberg (ART Grand Prix) is the new championship leader of the Formula 3 EuroSeries. At the Indy circuit of Brands Hatch, only 1.929 kilometres short the 21-year-old celebrated his fifth victory of the season.

On the Thursday prior to the race weekend, the appeal court judges opted for allowing the appeal filed by Team ART Grand Prix against their driver’s Zandvoort disqualification for having failed to meet the minimum-weight regulations.
In the qualifying the 21-year-old was really quick, but he lost two tenths of a second in the second sector and had to be satisfied with second position in the starting grid for Saturday´s race.
After the start, Jules Bianchi took the lead, which he kept until the 23rd lap. Then, he had to come into the pit lane for a drive through penalty. The clerk of the course found that he had set a fastest sector time while yellow flags were out. Nico Hülkenberg took the lead and kept it without until crossing the finish line without any problems.
During the race on Sunday Hülkenberg, test driver for the Williams Formula 1 team, had a successful overtaking manoeuvre as he went past Yann Clairay (SG Formula). Finally he saw the checkered flag in fifth position and scored important points for the overall ranking.
His victory on Saturday allowed Nico Hülkenberg (61 points) to extend his points lead to 13 points. After 14 rounds, the Italian Edoardo Mortara (Signature-Plus) is second with 48 points.
From 19th to 21st of September the season races number 15 and 16 will be held at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona.

Malas noticias para hulkenberg? se vera mas adelante, pero parece que al final no acabara en williams que se le va a hacer...............o una de dos como el año que viene pase a gp2 no pueda ser el piloto provador por eso clos ocupara su asiento o por cosa que es mas dificil que hulkenberg pase a ser piloto oficial de williams.

Dani Clos se estrenará con un F1
El joven piloto español Dani Clos hará mañana su debut al volante de un monoplaza de Fórmula Uno. El catalán lo hará a los mandos de un Williams en un aeródromo británico mañana jueves.

A sus 19 años, Dani Clos compite actualmente en la F3 Euroseries, y mañana completará un test aerodinámico en recta con el que la escudería de Grove pondrá a punto su coche para el GP de Italia de este próximo fin de semana, según adelanta el Diario AS.

Al parecer, Clos también tiene opciones de participar la próxima semana en los entrenamientos programados por Williams en Jerez, los últimos de la temporada 2008.

'AS' asegura que Clos será evaluado por Williams de cara a poder convertirse en piloto probador de Williams en 2009.

Dani Clos participará en una jornada de test al volante del Williams F1 el próximo martes día 16 en el circuito español de Jerez de la Frontera. De esta manera el piloto catalán se sube por primera vez a un bólido de F1.

El piloto español, que se beneficiará de la jornada de test para jóvenes pilotos asignado a Williams, ha estado trabajando estos últimos meses en el simulador con buenos resultados. Dani se convierte de esta manera en el segundo piloto español en pilotar un Williams F1, después de que Marc Gené estuviera haciendo las labores de piloto probador durante cuatro años.

“Estoy muy contento, será una experiencia increíble. Durante este tiempo, todo el personal del equipo Williams me ha tratado genial y les agradezco el voto de confianza. Será mi primera experiencia con un F1 y hacerlo de la mano de un equipo con tanta historia como es Williams es todo un honor para mí. Espero estar a la altura y poder repetir pronto la experiencia.”

Actualmente, el piloto de Barcelona se encuentra disputando el más prestigioso y reñido campeonato internacional de jóvenes promesas, las F3 Euroseries.


Está enrolado en la escudería italiana Prema Powerteam, donde entre otros buenos resultados logró un tercer puesto en el circuito urbano de Pau. Se convirtió de esta manera en el primer español en subir al podio del mencionado campeonato. La próxima prueba tendrá lugar los días 19, 20 y 21 de septiembre en el Circuit deCatalunya.

Viva España - Formula 3 Euro Series on the Iberian Peninsula

18.09.2008 - For the third time in its history, the Formula 3 Euro Series is going to race at the Circuit de Catalunya, this weekend. Nico Hülkenberg (ART Grand Prix), Formula 1 test driver for the Williams team, travels to the 2.977-kilometre circuit located close to Barcelona as championship leader. Currently, Edoardo Mortara (Signature-Plus) is his toughest opponent.

Furthermore, the Italian who currently holds second position in the championship won one of the two rounds of last year’s Barcelona weekend. While Renger van der Zande (Prema Powerteam), the other man who celebrated a race win at Barcelona, in 2007, follows in third position.

Meanwhile, three guest drivers will use The Formula 3 Euro Series’ appearance in Spain for trying to demonstrate their skills on the grid of the planet’s most competitive young-gun series: Brendon Hartley (Carlin Motorsport), Peter Elkmann (RC Motorsport) and Stéphane Richelmi (Barazi Epsilon). Monaco’s Richelmi and his team will make their Formula 3 Euro Series debuts but the other two drivers already have got Formula 3 Euro Series experience under their belts. German Elkmann even has won a Formula 3 Euro Series round: in 2006, at Brands Hatch.

The grid also features two drivers from Barcelona: Dani Clos (Prema Powerteam) and Daniel Campos-Hull (HBR Motorsport). Clos travels to the Circuit de Catalunya right after having completed his first Formula 1 test and would love to tie in with his performance delivered in Pau. There, he secured his maiden Formula 3 Euro Series podium finish. While rookie Campos-Hull still is waiting for his first success in the hard-fought series.

Dani Clos (Prema Powerteam): “I’m looking forward to my home event. After all, I have fond memories of last year’s races at Barcelona. Despite having qualified only 18th I nearly made it to the podium, in the second race. And it goes without saying that I want to secure a similar result, this year. It’s about time for me to again be involved in the battle for the top positions and it would be really nice to make it to the podium, in my home race.”

Barcellona - Libere 1
Hulkenberg, passo da campione

Prima tornata di prove libere per la F.3 Euro Series a Barcellona (circuito corto), ottava prova stagionale. Nico Hulkenberg, leader della classifica generale, ha subito fatto capire che è con lui che si dovranno fare i conti per la vittoria sulla pista spagnola. Il tedesco del team ART ha segnato il primo tempo in 1'07"082, 173 millesimi più rapido del connazionale Christian Vietoris. Terza prestazione per Mika Maki mentre Henki Waldschmidt ha ottenuto un sorprendente quarto tempo.

Il primo dei motori Volkswagen è quello installato sulla vettura di Jean-Karl Vernay, solo dodicesimo e a 517 millesimi da Hulkenberg. Alle spalle del francese c'è Edoardo Mortara, poi il primo dei piloti Prema, Renger Van der Zande. La RC Motorsport ha 23° Cong Fu Cheng, subito davanti a Jens Klingmann mentre il rientrante Peter Elkmann è ventottesimo e penultimo. Chiude la lista tempi il team debuttante Epsilon Sport con Stephane Richelmi. Brendon Hartley, col team Carlin, è diciottesimo.

Vietoris the quickest in Barcelona tests

19.09.2008 - In today’s pre-event tests held at Barcelona, Christian Vietoris (Mücke Motorsport, 1:06.896 min) proved to be the only of the 29 Formula 3 Euro Series drivers who succeeded in clocking a lap time below 1:07 minutes. At the 2.977-kilometre Circuit de Catalunya, the Mücke driver defeated the likes of Nico Hülkenberg (ART Grand Prix, 1:07.082 min), Mika Mäki (Mücke Motorsport, 1:07.180 min) and Jules Bianchi (ART Grand Prix, 1:07.260 min).

At the end of the two 90-minute sessions, Vietoris was happy with what he had achieved at the wheel of his Dallara-Mercedes. “Considering the fact that this has been my very first outing on this circuit things went really well,” he said. “Apart from that it has been a normal day of testing - no serious incidents.”

The second-quickest driver of the day was current Formula 3 Euro Series Championship leader Nico Hülkenberg. By finishing second, the 21-year old prevented a Mücke Motorsport one-two, with Mika Mäki, the second Mücke driver, having to settle for finishing third on the combined time sheets of the two test sessions. “I encountered numerous electronics problems, the display on the steering wheel just didn’t show any information,” revealed Hülkenberg. “Furthermore, we’ve got to keep on working on our set-up that hasn’t been optimum, to date. But mo problem - we’ve got time to do so in tomorrow’s practice session.” With Jules Bianchi finishing fourth, all the top-four positions were held by ART Grand Prix and Mücke drivers respectively.

Fifth position was surprisingly clinched by Dutchman Henkie Waldschmidt (SG Formula, 1:07,258 min). “I’m getting on better and better,” he said. “At Brands Hatch I also was able to match the pace of the front-runners. In the meantime, I have gathered a good deal of Formula 3 experience and that’s the reason for this upward trend.”

The following positions on the time sheets were secured by Waldschmidt’s SG Formula team-mates Yann Clairay (1:07.312 min) and Richard Philippe (1:07.331 min). Philippe switched to SG Formula just days before the Barcelona weekend and seems to feel comfortable as member of the French squad right from day one. “Having a fast team-mate is great for Henkie and me,” said Clairay.

At the same time, Daniel Campos-Hull (HBR Motorsport, 1:07.411 min) proved to be the quicker of the two Spaniards on the Formula 3 Euro Series grid. By setting exactly the same lap time as Erik Janis (Mücke Motorsport, 1:07.411 min), he tied with the Czech for eleventh position.
