ART presenta appello sulla squalifica di Hulkenberg


Il team ART ha presentato appello in merito alla squalifica del suo pilota Nico Hulkenberg, primo in gara 1 a Zandvoort, avvenuta in seguito alle verifiche tecniche. La Dallara del pilota tedesco era stata trovato sottopeso di tre chili, 537 anziché 540. Il team ha giustificato ciň con la perdita del liquido estinguente.

« Tout s’est bien déroulé dčs que nous avons posé la voiture sur la piste en essais libres.
Nous avons simplement dű peaufiner les réglages pour adapter l’auto ŕ Zandvoort. Nous
avons 4 pole positions ŕ notre actif et c’est certainement bon pour les statistiques mais
les qualifications restent les qualifications, seule la course compte. J’ai pris un bon départ
et j’ai pu me détacher de mes poursuivants. Je me concentrais sur mon pilotage lorsque
l’extincteur s’est soudainement vidé sur le passage d’un vibreur que j’ai pris de la męme
maničre que depuis le début du week-end ! Il y avait de la mousse partout dans le
cockpit mais j’ai continué et je pensais que cette victoire était une belle récompense pour
l’équipe. Parfois vous aimeriez que la roue tourne enfin… Mais Fred Vasseur, les
ingénieurs, les mécaniciens et moi-męme continuerons de travailler d’arrache-pied, nous
continuerons de faire du bon travail et les bons résultats tomberont d’eux-męmes ; nous
voulons nous battre pour le championnat. »

Ein defekter Feuerlöscher war nach Ansicht von ART die Urasche für das Gewichtsdefizit von Nico Hülkenberg, das zu seiner Disqualifikation führte




Nico Hülkenbergs Feuerlöscherfahrt am Samstag in Zandvoort
Nico Hülkenberg und sein ART-Team haben Protest gegen die Disqualifikation von Zandvoort eingelegt. Beim neunten Saisonlauf der Formel-3-Euoserie sah der Deutsche als Erster die Zielflagge, bevor sein Dallara bei der technischen Kontrolle um drei Kilogramm zu leicht befunden wurde.


Als Begründung stellte sich heraus, dass sich der On-Board-Feuerlöscher während des Rennens ungewollt entleerte. Allerdings soll sich das Gesamtgewicht des Feuerlöscher-Inhalts auf 2,6 Kilogramm belaufen, was nach wie vor eine Diskrepanz von 0,4 Kilogramm als Erklärungsbedarf hinterließe.

Koudai Tsukakoshi (Manor Motorsports) passierte ein ähnlicher Vorfall, der Japaner fuhr schaumbedeckt in die Boxengasse, während sich Hülkenbergs Feuerlöscher gemäß ART-Boss Frederic Vasseur hauptsächlich in Richtung Motorraum entleerte.
"Plötzlich wurde mein Visor feucht", berichtete Hülkenberg gegenüber 'Autosport'. "Ich dachte, es würde regnen, aber als ich darüber wischte stellte ich fest, dass es kein Wasser war." ART hat nun vor allem das Problem nachzuweisen, dass und warum der Feuerlöscher irrtümlich losgegangen ist.

Al parecer la descalificacion fue devido a que durante el fin de semana se desprendio algo del extintor perdiendo el polvo y el consiguiente peso pero aun asi dudo de que le devuelvan los puntos al justo ganador de la carrera.............

Edoardo Mortara halftime champion

18.07.2008 - Ten rounds of the 2008 Formula 33 Euro Series season have been contested: halftime in the planet’s most competitive young-talent series. The unofficial halftime-champion title was secured by Italy’s Edoardo Mortara (Signature-Plus), with the best rookie, Mika Mäki (Mücke Motorsport), following in second position.

With ten rounds contested, Mortara holds a nine-point lead over the Finn. A lead he gained - inter alia - thanks to his extremely consistent performances delivered during the course of the first four race weekends of the season. Up to the Zandvoort, weekend the young man residing in Geneva, Switzerland, scored in every single race - and was the only driver to do so. In the Netherlands, however, he failed to add more points to his tally.

Mika Mäki used this opportunity to clearly reduce his gap to the championship leader. Other than Mortara - who has got just one race win under his belt - Mäki secured three winner trophies but on the other hand, he had to leave two Formula 3 Euro Series venues empty-handed.

Nico Hülkenberg (ART Grand Prix) currently holds fourth position in the championship. Bad luck seems to truly be following the German around. In the season opener, he held the lead when an engine failure forced him into retirement. And at Zandvoort, he was disqualified after having crossed the finish line of the first round of the weekend as race winner. After the race, the scrutineers found out that his Dallara didn’t meet the stipulated minimum weight. A breach of the rules that was caused by the fire extinguisher having exhausted its content during the race.

Dutchman Renger van der Zande (Prema Powerteam) benefited from Hülkenberg’s bad luck: In his home event, he passed the Williams Formula 1 test driver in the championship. More and more, van der Zande turns out to be a specialist for the Sunday rounds: in three Sunday races he made it to the podium and twice, he even did so as race winner.

The situation behind thee top four is extremely close: fifth-placed Christian Vietoris (Mücke Motorsport) lies just five points ahead of Japan’s Koudai Tsukakoshi (Manor Motorsport) in tenth position.

At the last weekend in July, the Formula 3 Euro Series young guns are going to kick off the second half of the season at the Nürburgring.

Jerez Test Day One

The team's test driver, Nico Hulkenberg, made a return to the cockpit today for the start of a four day test in Jerez this week.

At the 4.428km southern Spanish track, and under extremely hot conditions which saw temperatures reach the mid-thirties, Nico Hulkenberg spent the day setting up the FW30 ahead of round 11 of the season, which will take place in Hungary in less than two week's time.

Nico set the fourth fastest time of the day with a 1:20.953 among a field of eight teams.

“Nico Hulkenberg drove the car today and concentrated on general set-ups. Our running was cut short by a technical problem later on in the afternoon, but we fortunately didn’t lose too much time. Nico Rosberg joins us tomorrow for day two”

Comenzaron hoy en el trazado jerezano los test programados por todas las escuderías de Fórmula Uno y que se prolongarán hasta el próximo viernes.

El principal interés de estos test se centra en preparar los monoplazas de cara a los grandes premios de Hungría y Europa en los que las condiciones de pista y temperatura pueden ser similares a las reinantes en Jerez durante estos días, es decir, mucho calor (hoy, 38º en el ambiente, 52º en la pista) y circuitos donde la tracción es uno de los pilares básicos para contar con un coche competitivo.

En definitiva, nueve escuderías en total han estado presentes hoy en la pista jerezana con la única ausencia de Force India que comenzará sus sesiones mañana martes.

El piloto alemán de Toro Rosso, Sebastian Vettel firmó al final de la sesión el mejor registro de la jornada parando el crono en 1.19.844 conseguido durante las dos primeras horas del test cuando la pista no tiene aún la excesiva temperatura que llega a alcanzar horas más tarde que hace perder grip a los monoplazas.

Tras él, se situaba el probador de Mclaren, Gary Paffet que conseguía marcar un tiempo de 1.20.179 con Badoer (Ferrari) tercero y un registro de 1.20.697. El también probador Nico Hulkengerg, en este caso de Williams era cuarto con 1.20.953.

Quienes no lograron sacar provecho de esta primera jornada fueron los hombres del equipo BMW.


Y es que el austriaco Christian Klien sólo lograba completar tres escasos giros en los primeros instantes de la sesión justo antes de que uno de los mecánicos del equipo al ir a empujar el coche una vez había parado en boxes sufriera una fuerte descarga eléctrica que le hizo caer al suelo y ser trasladado al hospital del circuito, donde fue atendido por el personal médico (afortunadamente todo quedó en un susto).

Rápidamente se metió el coche a boxes que se cerró a cal y canto para estudiar las posibles causas de este incidente que condicionó la jornada del equipo que ya no volvió a salir a pista. Se da la circunstancia que el equipo realiza pruebas en Jerez al nuevo sistema denominado Kers (Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems) sistema de recuperación energética que se empleará en los monoplazas de F-1 a partir del 2009.

Para mañana, el interés de la sesión lo centrará el campeón del mundo Kimi Raikkonen que rodará hasta el jueves con su Ferrari.

La edición de 2008 de la "RTL GP Masters of Formula 3" contará con una nutrida representación del 8 al 10 de agosto.

La "RTL GP Masters of Formula 3" es el antiguo "Marlboro Masters F3" que ya ni siquiera se disputa en Zandvoort sino en Zolder.

El piloto de ART Grand Prix Nico Hülkenberg, ganador del último año, participará un año más para intentar ganar de nuevo. Destacar la presencia de Volkswagen con Edoardo Mortara como punta de lanza y a pilotos como Atte Mustonen y Brendon Hartley.

Start into the second half of the 2008 Formula 3 Euro Series season

23.07.2008 - This weekend, the Nürburgring’s 3.629-kilometre short layout will be the venue of the eleventh and twelfth rounds of the Formula 3 Euro Series season. Edoardo Mortara (Signature-Plus) will give his very best to successfully defend his championship lead at the Eifel rollercoaster.

While Mika Mäki (Mücke Motorsport), the fastest rookie on the grid and currently second in the championship, will try hard to steal the Italian’s lead. Meanwhile, the battle for third position also promises to be a thriller: after all, the lead of third placed Renger van der Zande (Prema Powerteam) over Koudai Tsukakoshi (Manor Motorsport) in tenth position amounts to just eleven points.

Following a two race-weekend break, Tom Dillmann makes his Formula 3 Euro Series comeback: the Frenchman is going to race for Jo Zeller Racing. Furthermore, the Nürburgring grid of the most competitive young-gun series on our planet also will feature two newcomers: Brendon Hartley and Daniel Ricciardo. New Zealand’s Hartley contests the British Formula 3 Championship for Carlin Motorsport and currently holds fifth position, there. At the Nürburgring, he will race a Dallara-Volkswagen entered by R.C. Motorsport. While Australia’s Daniel Ricciardo is going to contest his maiden Formula 3 race, this weekend. He currently holds the championship lead in both the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and the Western European Formula Renault 2.0 Championship. In both these series he is driving for Team SG Formula and the French squad also enters the single-seater Ricciardo is going to race at the Nürburgring.

Christian Vietoris (Mücke Motorsport): “I’m living just 20 minutes from the Nürburgring, therefore, I’m truly looking forward to this weekend’s races. I hope that I finally will get the hang of it, there. In most of the races I proved to be fast enough but to date, several peanuts prevented me from experiencing a consistently competitive weekend. Therefore, it would be particularly great if I would succeed in delivering throughout the weekend just in my home event. My goal is clear: a race win.

The Formula 3 Euro Series is covered live or re-live in 20 countries. Furthermore, Formula 3 Euro Series race résumés are broadcasted in numerous countries.

Nico Hülkenberg optimally prepared for the Nürburgring

24.07.2008 - In the Formula 3 Euro Series pre-event tests for the races on the Nürburgring’s short layout (3.629 kilometres), Nico Hülkenberg (ART Grand Prix, 1:23.402 min) proved to be the quickest. Behind the German who currently holds fourth position in the championship, Christian Vietoris (Mücke Motorsport, 1:23,466 min), Mika Mäki (Mücke Motorsport, 1:23.764 min) and Tom Dillmann (Jo Zeller Racing, 1:23.891 min) finished second, third and fourth respectively.


“It’s always nice to secure a top position,” said Hülkenberg. “But today’s results don’t count at all. Succeeding on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be far more important. Nonetheless, the basis of the car is good. Now we just have to execute some fine-tuning measures.”

Hülkenberg’s team-mate Jon Lancaster (ART Grand Prix, 1:24.344 min) who finished eighth praised the German’s performance. “Nico’s lap was really good,” he said. “It tested another set-up but this wasn’t the only reason why he was that much quicker. But I hope that I will be able to match Nico’s pace tomorrow.”

Behind Christian Vietoris who may look forward to contesting a true home event, Mika Mäki finished third. “It wasn’t easy,” said the Finn. “We tested several things, particularly with regard to the qualifying. And there’s still some work waiting for us, as the 0.3-second gap to Christian is somewhat too big. But I think we are on a good way.”

For Tom Dillmann, today’s pre-event tests represented the first outing at the wheel of a Formula 3 car for nearly two months. “I hadn’t expected to make it to the positions at the front end of the field right away,” he admitted. “But with just five laps completed, I realised that the Jo Zeller Racing Car suits me better than the Dallara I raced for Team SG Formula until and including Pau.”

Following the three hours of testing, the Frenchman was really happy. “I’m delighted with being back in the Formula 3 Euro Series,” he beamed. “And I think I may be really happy about having secured fourth position in the first test for my new team.”

Brendon Hartley (RC Motorsport, 1:24.952 min), currently fifth in the British Formula 3 Championship, finished 23rd, in his first Formula 3 Euro Series appearance, while Daniel Ricciardo (SG Formula, 1:25453 min) came 28th, in his maiden Formula 3 Euro Series test.

Nurburgring, libere 2: Hulkenberg e Vietoris padroni di casa

Sul circuito di casa Nico Hulkenberg e Christian Vietoris hanno occupato le prime due posizioni assolute al termine della prima giornata di prove della F.3 Euro Series al Nurburgring. I due tedeschi, rispettivamente del team ART e Mucke, sono risultati separati da 64 millesimi: 1'23"402 per Hulkenberg, 1'23"466 per Vietoris. Più staccato Mika Maki, terzo con 1'23"764. Continua a sorprendere Tom Dillmann, quarto con la monoposto del team Zeller. Buoni riscontri per il team Prema che è quinto con Renger Van der Zande e sesto con Dani Clos. In difficoltà i motori Volkswagen. Brendon Hartley non ha ripetuto l'exploit del mattino ed è 23° mentre il primo dei VW è solo 15°: Jean Karl Vernay. Preoccupazione per Edoardo Mortara, in testa al campionato, che da Zandvoort non riesce più ad essere ficcante e oggi ha concluso col 21° tempo.

Nurburgring, libere 1: Nico Hulkenberg ci riprova


Sesta prova della F.3 Euro Series che torna in Germania, sul circuito del Nurburgring dove verrà utilizzato il tracciato corto. Già in pista questa mattina i 30 piloti iscritti per una prima sessione di prove libere. Nico Hulkenberg è risultato il più veloce, voglioso di vendetta dopo la squalifica subìta a Zandvoort. Dietro di lui Christian Vietoris e Mika Maki. Bene il rientrante Tom Dillmann, quinto, e Brendon Hartley che con la Dallara-VW della RC è risultato settimo dando la sveglia ai suoi nuovi compagni di squadra. Hartley è anche il primo dei piloti Volkswagen. Stefano Coletti, undicesimo, è il primo dei piloti Prema. Il debuttante Daniel Ricciardo ha percorso solo 5 giri per una uscita di pista dovuta ad un problema tecnico.

Jules Bianchi on top in free practice

25.07.2008 - Frenchman Jules Bianchi (ART Grand Prix, 1:23.358 min) set the fastest time in free practice of the Formula 3 Euro Serie at the 3.629 kilometres’ short circuit of the Nürburgring. The rookie was 0.064 seconds faster than Christian Vietoris (Mücke Motorsport, 1:23.422 min). Their respective team-mates Nico Hülkenberg (ART Grand Prix, 1:23.562 min) and Mika Mäki (Mücke Motorsport, 1:23.616 min) occupied third and fourth place.

Jules Bianchi, who complained about brake problems in yesterday’s pre-event test, was quite satisfied. “Now, I hope that I can be as fast in qualifying this afternoon.” Christian Vietoris wants to prevent this. The Mücke driver was already among the fastest in testing and he was also one of the front runners in free practice. “I am feeling well at the Nürburgring. Today, I have beaten Nico Hülkenberg, who was still faster than me yesterday. On the other hand, Jules outpaced me now.”

This time, Vietoris’s team mate Mika Mäki was placed behind Hülkenberg. “With old tyres, it went pretty well, but when we put new ones on, I had some problems at first. I already lost three tenths of a second in the first sector. We were able to get it sorted before the session was over, but at that time, my tyres were already worn out too much to try once more to be quick.”

With Erik Janis (Mücke Motorsport, 1:23.753 min) in fifth place, all Mücke drivers ranked in the top five. In sixth place, returnee Tom Dillmann (Jo Zeller Racing, 1:23.804 min) confirmed his performance from the pre-event-test, in which he ended up fifth.

Jens Klingmann (RC Motorsport, 1:24.313 min) was happy with his 14th place in free practice. Thus, the driver, who just turned 18 years old, was the best-placed driver with a Volkswagen engine. “Cool, even ahead of Edoardo Mortara, who is leading the points’ standings. Now, it would be nice when I could get it done once more in qualifying. A grid position in the top 15 would be a great result for us.”

Nurburgring - Libere 3
Bianchi si mette dietro i tedeschi


Il terzo turno di prove libere al Nurburgring ha messo in evidenza le doti di Jules Bianchi, rookie francese del team ART, che ha realizzato il miglior tempo davanti ai tedeschi Christian Vietoris e Nico Hulkenberg, ieri i migliori a posizioni invertite. Quarta piazza per Mika Maki. Il team Prema ha Renger Van der Zande decimo e Dani Clos undicesimo mentre la RC Motorsport ha Jens Klingmann quattordicesimo, una delle migliori prestazioni del giovane tedesco. In crescita il debuttante assoluto Daniel Ricciardo che ha preceduto il compagno di squadra Henki Waldschmidt ed è ventunesimo.
